Camera placement

For guidance on required installation parameters (height and angle) of any cameras that are to be equipped with SafeZone-edge, please refer to the Requirements document. This also provides a list of all of the cameras and encoders that are currently supported. For assistance in placing cameras on site, use the SafeZone-edge Camera Placement Tool.

Installation and licence activation

These steps are undertaken in the SafeZone-edge Setup Interface, which is documented in the Setup Guide. The aspects that are specific to device platforms (e.g. AXIS) are further documented in each Quick Start Guide. Note that licence activation may differ across device platforms.

Calibration of cameras

This procedure is common across device platforms and is covered in the Setup Guide – with additional information provided in the Technical FAQs.

Definition of detection scenarios

Again, this step is common across device platforms and is covered in the Setup Guide. Use of advanced scenarios (e.g. conditional rather than passage) may require further information – and this can be found in the Technical FAQs.

Configuration of outputs

Aspects of this step are specific to device platforms – for example when using the native camera alarm outputs. The outputs function is covered in the Setup Guide, with device-specific information found in the Quick Start Guide for each device platform. For more detailed knowledge of alarm outputs, please refer to your device manufacturer.
