I encounter a problem opening SafeZone-edge Setup.

  • Ensure you have administrator rights.

It is not possible to add a camera.

  • Camera connection parameters e.g. IP address, password, HTTP port of FTP port are incorrect.

    • Verify the parameters entered are correct and try again.

  • The camera cannot be seen from the user’s computer.

    • Use a web browser to browse to the IP address of the camera, to confirm whether it is available. If you cannot see it then the camera has not been correctly installed on the network, or the computer does not have access to the network which the camera is on.

  • FTP connection to the camera from the configuration computer is blocked.

    • Make sure it is possible to make a FTP connection to the camera.

Loss of video streams in the SafeZone-edge Setup

  • The video source is no longer available.

    • Use a web browser to check if the camera is available.

  • The video source has been interrupted and has not been refreshed on the display.

    • Click on the tile where the stream should be and resize the interface and the stream should come back.

The automatic calibration does not work or yields bad results.

  • Pre-requisites are not met.

    • Make sure the SafeZone-edge requirements are met (see “SafeZone-edge for Axis cameras Implementation Guidelines” document).

  • There are other moving objects in the scene used for the automatic calibration such as cars, trees or other persons.

    • Repeat the auto-calibration, or perform the calibration using the “Manual” method.

  • The field of view is cluttered making the person walking in front of the camera partially hidden a lot of the time.

    • Perform the calibration using the “Manual” method.

  • The field of view is small like indoor corridors, rooms or outdoor entrances.

    • Perform the calibration using the “Manual” method.

  • The capture video was not properly recorded because of insufficient disk space.

    • Check that there is adequate disk space and that the application has permission to save the video recording on the computer where the SafeZone-edge interface is running.

The overlay is not displayed in SafeZone-edge Setup even though the analysis is running.

  • An anti-virus is blocking the reception of the overlay.

    • Configure the anti-virus in order to allow the overlay to be received.

No alarms are triggered in the Safezone-edge setup on the configuration computer even though the analysis is running and the overlay is visible.

  • Although the target is in the scene it is not matching a conditional scenario e.g. not moving from one zone to another in the zone crossing scenario.

    • Make sure the scenario is correctly specified, including conditions.

  • Poor camera image.

    • Make sure the SafeZone-edge requirements are met (see “SafeZone-edge for Axis cameras Implementation Guidelines” document), that the calibration is precise enough, that sensitivity is high enough.

The analysis does not start even though the configuration should be complete

  • The camera does not have the latest firmware.

    • Install the latest firmware for the camera.

The SafeZone Server license no longer work after a component changed in the SafeZone Server machine

If the SafeZone server license no longer works after a change in the machine (ex: RAID card or mother board replaced), please proceed as follows:

  1. On the SafeZone server machine, close the SafeZone Configuration Interface.

In the Windows file browser, go in C:\ProgramFiles (x86)\Digital Barriers\SafeZone

and rename analyticsLicense.lic in analyticsLicense_old.lic

  1. Launch the cmd line editor as Administrator as follows (you have to launch it from the Windows file browser when you are in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Digital Barriers\SafeZone):

  1. In this cmd line editor, run the bat file "generateLicense.bat" as follows:

This creates a new file: analyticsLicense.licin C:\Program Files (x86)\DigitalBarriers\Safezone

4. Send the two files: analyticsLicense_old.lic (created in step 1/ above) and analyticsLicense.lic (created in step 3/ above) with your Digital Barriers order reference to license@safezone.digitalbarriers.com. Please indicate in your email the component that has changed on the SafeZone machine.

5. Digital Barriers will return to you the signed file analyticsLicense.lic.

6. Stop the SafeZone service on the SafeZone server machine:

  1. Copy the file analyticsLicense.lic that you have received from Digital Barriers in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Digital Barriers\Safezone

  1. Restart the SafeZone service on the SafeZone server machine:

9. From step 8/ done, SafeZone Server must be up and running, you can open the Safezone Configuration interface and check that SafeZone Server runs correctly.

I do not see the burnt-in metadata overlay on my View Area

Check that the View Area that you selected in the Setup Interface really exists in the Axis Camera Web Interface.

If you just changed the View Areas in the Axis camera, remove and add the camera in the Setup Interface to synchronize the View Area list.

How to configure Axis Text Overlay and SafeZone-edge burnt-in at the same time
